Welcome to my first ever post. Many thanks to my good friend Debbie who helped me gets to grips with Blogging!
I've really enjoyed myself over the weekend. I've been out walking with my dog Molly and have been quite inspired by the lovely bright colours of spring. I found some old artificial flowers I have laying about in a drawer, gave them a quick wash and wove them into a reed wreath that I bought from a local Charity shop. Very pleased with the results - Its brightened up my dining room.
I've also managed to complete a pastel painting from beginnning to end in one sitting. I started it using watercolour paints, then promarker pens as I sat on the sofa watching the TV the other evening. It was an awful mess to start of with, but I rescued it by applying quite thick Pastel over the top which I think has bought it together. I was trying to make the colours as bright as possible. I'm not sure whether its worth framing though.
I completed these two Kingfishers on Sunday too. All I have to do now is blacken the solder and attached hanging hooks.
Lastly my friend Debbie showed me how to make brooches or corsages using man-made fabric. Basically you cut circles, melt the edges over a heat source, whether it be a flame or heat gun, layer them up and sew together. They look stunning on a coat, hat or bag. Its been a very enjoyable crafting weekend.
