Doll Construction

A couple of people have contacted me to ask how I put a miniature doll together so here's a basic lesson of how I do it.

I make the separate parts in fimo natural clay and bake. Then I use a mini drill to make holes in the hands, feet, torso and neck. Insert little lengths of pipe cleaner. Super glue them in place and bulk out the arms and legs by wrapping wool around and securing.

Toddler boy and french bulldog

Hope you like this little chap I finished today. He is currently available on ebay

He measures just 7cm high and has bendable arms and legs.
This little french bull dog is available on ebay too. Just view my other items. He comes with his padded bed which I made earlier today.

White Persian cat, tabby kitten

I really enjoyed myself creating these two cats. The tabby has fun flock applied in grey and white and has black stripes made by permanent ink.

The white Persian has had white fur cut from a Santa hat and applied in strips, starting from the base upwards. Fiddly but fun.

Both are made from polymer clay and are available on ebay under seller "ooak*craft"

Sunday 10th March 2013

Surely spring must be on its way soon. I'm longing to wear something colourful and pretty, this winter is never ending. At least my little dolls are dressed for spring. I've discovered a lovely lady Cathy at "" who is a fabulous miniature seamstress. She generally makes clothing of her own design for Sylvian figures, but at my request has turned out some fabulous 1:12th scale clothing for my miniature sculpts.
